The instrumental duo of Richard Drueding (guitars) and Jim O'Connor (percussion) play original compositions and covers that contain elements from many traditional and contemporary forms of music. A self-taught guitarist, Richard Drueding has performed as a soloist and accompanist for more than thirty years. Besides many solo performances and four albums (The Last Wound-Up, Insomniac's Lullaby, Wissahickon and Subterranean), he has worked with folk singer Tom Paxton, jazz and blues vocalist Zan Gardner, singer/songwriter Tom Gala, poet Sandy Crimmins and blues and pop vocalist Ellyn Hill. He currently performs and records with Mexican singer and guitarist Vicente Castaneda. Jim O'Connor, a guitarist turned drummer, has played with a wide variety of bands over the years, most recently with the dance band The Sacred Cowboys. For his project with Drueding, Jim has fashioned a unique percussion set up with cajon, tambourine, cymbals, shakers and more that provides a roots-americana and world beat sound, often at the same time. On their recently released CD Subterranean the various styles: blues, folk, latin american, old rock and roll and jazz, blend into a work by a singular voice.

"These complex, colorful instrumental compositions clearly have stories to tell."
                                       - Jazz Times

"...vibrant and interesting to listen to with rapt attention and also delightful as
          background instrumental music."
