Miles Thompson is a songwriter and guitarist whose songs blend elements of folk, country, rock and blues. His mastery of the acoustic guitar and his expressive baritone voice have earned him fans throughout the Philadelphia region.
His song, "The Mermaid's Violin", recorded by the Schonwalds, received airplay on folk music radio programs in the United States, Canada and Australia. In 2006, and 2007, he was a winner of the Xtreme Folk Scene annual songwriting contest for "Water's Gonna Rise" and "Walls". In 2010, Miles was a winner of the Philadelphia Songwriters Slam.
